Motorsport can be a very expensive hobby and even more expensive as a career choice; it requires a significant financial investment for a vehicle, tools, specialised equipment and trailer, let alone somewhere to store and work on it.

Then there’s the skill and knowledge to get the best out of your new investment.

A promising career can be very quickly cut short by a lack of funds and knowledge.  Buying a car, even a front running car is no guarantee of success.

Most of Australia’s and the worlds top race drivers have accredited Formula Ford with teaching them the skills they needed to progress in their careers.  It IS the first stepping stone in a career path to Australia's premier categories or even F1.

Our racing programs are substantially cheaper than our competitors and we focus on maximising the length of a drivers career through smart financial choices in the early stage of their development.  Arrive and drive race packages are available for all drivers, from one off rounds through to full championship seasons.

Abbott Motorsport currently has two Formula Ford race cars available to lease for the 2014 motor racing season.  The cars are prepared in our workshop and will be presented race-ready at the start of the 2014 season.

Advantages of Leasing VS Ownership of a Formula Ford
When evaluating your options for progressing up the motorsport ranks consider this;

• Do you have adequate storage facilities for a Formula Ford and its trailer?
• Do you have a suitable tow vehicle to transport your race car to the track?
• Do you have the skills to set up a Formula Ford – on and off the track, as well as the skill to understand how to drive them?
• Do you have the specialist tools required for the proper maintenance and setting up of a Formula Ford?
• Do you feel comfortable rebuilding a Hewland LD200 transaxle, replacing worn out suspension rod ends and realigning the suspension, or maybe scaling the car to achieve optimum handling?
• Can you afford to carry the numerous spares required – gear sets & dog rings, brake pads, suspension components etc?
• How long will you be in the category and how much will you lose on the eventual resale?
